The 33rd Street Business Improvement District extends a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our 10th annual 33rd Street Fair such a fabulous success!! On Saturday, September 16th, 33rd Street closed for the day to bring together our business district with the community to enjoy local food, fun, and music while exploring and experiencing unique vendors, booths, artists, shops and boutiques along 33rd Street! Overall, the day was a great success, and we couldn’t have made it happen without our wonderful 33rd Street merchants, vendors, volunteers, performers, visitors, and sponsors!! Here's what happened...
Community Stage:
The 33rd Street Fair featured live music from one end to the other! Here’s the line up for the Community Stage on 33rd Street at Avenue F North. Fantastic!!
10:00 – Aryn Murray and Mitch Dureault met 2 years ago in the green room at Doyle Fest and were haphazardly thrown into an unrehearsed performance. The two realized after, that they might actually be able to have some fun while creating something interesting. A friendship was born.
11:00 – Wires & Wood is an acoustic quartet featuring mandolin, guitar, bass and percussion. They play a variety of Latin, choro, and gypsy jazz instrumentals.
12:00 – Three String Fretless play a unique mixture of acoustic rock, blues and country. The trio lineup has been together for 10 years though Kelly and Terry have now played together for 31 years.
1:00 – BlueStack was formed years ago, but the OGs have recently reunited to bring you music to live by. Original songs are plenty, but today we'll play some of your all-time favourite covers in a style of our own. We hope you let your music free. Peace.
2:00 – The Matt Remenda Ensemble - Wielding an eclectic brand of folk/roots/jam rock, the Matt Remenda Ensemble blends "trueling" leads between guitar, keyboard, and drums with melancholic and haunting vocal harmonies to create a maverick sound that isn't quite folk, isn't quite jazz, and isn't quite punk.
3:00 – Small Kitchen Radio (SKR) released their first album Perspective Pieces in 2013. In February 2020, just before pandemic lock-down, SKR released an EP entitled Parts. Together these 3, Shawn Semchuk, Eric Regnier, and Nevin Buehler, will teach you a lesson while rocking your face off. And then nurse you back to good health so you can do it all over again!
4:00 – The Neil Roston Band is a rock band formed in 2012 playing a collection of rockin' blues from styles like Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King and Buddy Guy. Their unique brand of entertainment is a mix of blues guitar covers, original works and folk rock.
